Jaclyn Volkhammer

Jaclyn Volkhammer has been Senior Editor and Assistant Publisher of Global Brief magazine since 2011. Between 2011 and 2019, she was the president of Friends of Glendon, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting students in financial need at Glendon College, York University. She is a French Immersion teacher with the York Region District School Board.

Volkhammer holds a BA in political science and environmental and health studies from Glendon College, where she won the Murray G. Ross Award as the top graduating undergraduate student at York University. She also holds a bilingual master’s degree in public and international affairs from the Faculty of Graduate Studies, York University, where she received a SSHRC-Joseph-Armand Bombardier CGS Master’s Scholarship, the Martha Shuttleworth Graduate Entrance Scholarship in Public and International Affairs, and an Ontario Graduate Scholarship. Finally, she holds a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.

Volkhammer has worked as a bilingual transcriber for Hansard Reporting and Interpretation Services at Queen’s Park in Toronto, and in a policy co-op position for the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.
