Louis Fishauf

Louis Fishauf has been Art Director of Global Brief since its launch in 2009.

He is one of North America’s leading graphic designers.

He began his career as an editorial designer and art director, working at a succession of Canadian consumer and special interest publications including ChatelaineThe CityCity WomanExecutiveT.O. magazine and Saturday Night. His work has won numerous awards, including five Gold National Magazine Awards for art direction and cover design.

In 1982, he co-founded REACTOR ART+DESIGN in Toronto, where he was creative director for 12 years. Since leaving Reactor in 1994, he has divided his time between art direction, design and illustration assignments, and consulting for a number of corporate clients. In 2008, he spent a year as consulting design director for Toronto Life magazine, earning two Canadian Newsstand Awards for cover design. Under his tenure, Toronto Lifewas named Magazine of the Year at the 2008 National Magazine Awards.

Fishauf has served on the boards of directors of the Art Directors Club of Toronto and the Worldwide Publishing Consortium, as well as on the advisory board of MediaLinx h@bitat at the Canadian Film Centre. He is a part-time instructor at the Ontario College of Art and Design.

He lives and works in Kettleby, Ontario.
